Job Description:
The Systems Test Technician supports production test, failure analysis and repair activities to achieve quality targets and on-time delivery of systems according to the overall production schedule. Work with the cross-functional production and management teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.
This is a great first step into IT. This is a very large IT company. They are a manufacturer for servers for fortune 100 companies. As a test technician your
role would be to do failure analysis and quality assurance on these server racks, Your standard day would be taking this server rack to your station testing it and replacing what does not work.
This includes hard drives, motherboards (this is why they need to have hardware experience) IF you are interested in software only this is not for you HARDWARE only.
This is a warehouse environment you will be standing for 8+ hours a day.
It's a colder environment because they keep the temperature down to make sure the servers don't overheat.
It is also louder in this environment because the servers are constantly humming they allow you to wear ear plugs, or headphones.
