Summary of Position: Under limited supervision, the Senior Business Analyst is primarily responsible in working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, gathering and analyzing data, and providing insights that drive strategic decisions. Using organizational datasets be able to aggregate, analyze, and report actionable insights to cross functional departments in support of various business lines. The Senior Business Analyst is expected to design and implement data analytical solutions that enhance operational efficiency, manage project timelines, and ensure that business objectives are met. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, as the role requires identifying and addressing complex business challenges with the use of organizational data.

Additionally, they may mentor junior analysts, facilitate communication between technical teams and business units, and contribute to the overall success of business initiatives. Strong analytical skills, expertise in business process modeling, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights are key components of this role. This position plays a critical role in providing senior management with an assessment of historical and forward-looking performance, including analysis of variances and trends, risks, and opportunities, as well as communication of insights. The role requires strong organization and communication skills, while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. The ability to efficiently and effectively update, analyze, monitor, and run multiple scenarios on large data sets is position critical.

Job Duties:

1. Data Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders to understand and document specific data needs and business objectives, ensuring the alignment of data analytics projects with organizational goals.

2. Data Process Improvement: Analyze and optimize data collection, storage, and processing workflows to improve data quality, accessibility, and efficiency.

3. Data Solution Design: Develop data-driven solutions and models that address business challenges, utilizing advanced analytics techniques, machine learning, and statistical analysis.

4. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct in-depth data analysis to extract actionable insights, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making. Present findings in clear, concise reports and dashboards.

5. Data Project Management: Lead or support data-centric projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of analytics solutions.

6. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a bridge between business units, and IT teams, ensuring that data requirements and analytics outcomes are clearly communicated and understood.

7. Data Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, methodologies, analysis processes, and findings to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

8. Data Quality and Integrity: Establish and enforce data quality standards, perform data validation, and implement data governance practices to maintain high levels of data integrity.

9. Mentorship and Leadership in Analytics: Mentor junior analysts and data professionals, helping them develop their analytical skills and understanding of data best practices.

10. Data-Driven Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous testing and validation of data models and analytics solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and deliver accurate results.

11. Continuous Learning in Data Analytics: Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in data analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence to continually enhance the organization's data capabilities.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Business, Data Science, Statistics, Healthcare Analytics, or a related field

Minimum five (5) years of experience working in business analysis with at least 3 years specifically in data analytics

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization

Expert-Level Excel skillset Required

Proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies such as SQL, Power BI, Python, or other relevant software

In-depth understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions

Experience managing or supporting data analytics projects, including project planning, resource management, and risk mitigation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in data analysis and documentation.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and data science teams.

Commitment to staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and business intelligence.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process large amounts of information and interpret data

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field

Over 7 years of experience in business analysis and data analytics, with a proven track record of leading complex data-driven projects.

Advanced technological skills: Proficiency in advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques, as well as experience with big data technologies.

Experience working in healthcare with a deep understanding of clinical and operational workflows

Must be able to demonstrate modelling and data analytic proficiency on large datasets
