Construction Estimator

We are working with a luxury custom home builder that is seeking an experienced residential construction Estimator to join a phenomenal team! As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately determining project costs for our custom home building projects, ensuring budgets are aligned with client expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in residential construction, particularly luxury and custom homes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for custom home projects, including materials, labor, and timeframes.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and proposals to create comprehensive estimates.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information.
• Review and assess vendor and subcontractor proposals, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Monitor ongoing projects to track actual costs vs. estimates, making adjustments as needed.
• Prepare bid packages and participate in the negotiation process with vendors and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits as necessary to evaluate conditions and requirements for estimates.
• Assist in the development and updating of cost databases for materials, labor, and other construction-related expenses.
• Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize costs while maintaining quality and design integrity.
• Present estimates and budget breakdowns to clients, ensuring transparency and alignment with their expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator, ideally within the luxury custom home or high-end residential sector.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and costs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis.
• Proficient in estimating software with Buildertrend and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
