Job Overview

We are seeking a proficient Electrical CAD/BIM Technician to join our dedicated engineering and operations team. This role is essential in delivering precise electrical design drawings through the effective use of AutoCAD and BIM technology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving capabilities, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital, along with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop code-compliant electrical design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and BIM software.
  • Interpret and analyze architectural and mechanical engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to assess internal requirements, create new designs, and modify existing ones.
  • Produce detailed part specifications and assembly drawings consistent with engineering standards and best practices.
  • Create electrical one-line and three-line diagrams, as well as control schematics.
  • Prepare material lists for ordering and fabrication purposes.
  • Engage with team members to design intricate components and address design issues.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and BIM software.
  • General understanding of electrical power and control wiring.
  • Experience with schematic and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing high and low voltage electrical industrial systems, including control and instrumentation circuits, in accordance with UL, NEC, and NFPA standards.
  • Prior experience in industrial electrical installation is preferred.
