Job Description

Pharmacy Tech / Data Entry

  • Assist with all phases of pharmacy services. Work with patients, providers, and clinics.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and messages from physicians in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify potential areas for improvement including streamlining processes or revisions to improve patient and providers satisfaction.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback.
  • Process prescriptions using various computers software.
  • Ability to learn new innovative, specialty compounds and nutraceutical products.
  • Monitor storage and inventory of medications and supplies in the department.
  • Leverage relationships with vendors to control cost.
  • Coordinate functions with other departments (Retail, Compounding, Shipping, Clinics) to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Undertake administrative tasks (e.g., record-keeping, billing, invoicing) as assigned.
  • Ability to function well in a team or independently with minimum supervision.
  • Willingness to be a team player and promote a positive team environment.

Work Requirements

  • The Pharmacy Technician must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with EHR systems/pharmacy software (Liberty and Life File preferred)
  • Ability to manage high volumes of data entry and phone calls.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, shift between tasks and roles as needed, and be comfortable in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience in training or mentoring staff, managing workflow, or coordinating across departments.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly, troubleshoot issues, and possess analytical skills.
  • Typing and computer usage throughout the day.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks from multiple sources.
  • Ability to grasp concepts and re-apply that information in similar situations.
  • Interacts politely and effectively with all colleagues and customers.
  • Must have good attendance and be consistently punctual.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working as a Lead Pharmacy Technician or similar (Preferred)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understands and performs pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks.
  • Hold a FL Pharmacy Technician license.
