Job Description

Elatec Inc. is seeking an experienced Assembly Technician for our team in Palm City! As a result of internal promotions, we are excited about this rare opportunity to join our production team! As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing various electronic components and products by following work instructions and interpreting diagrams and schematics. You will work closely with our quality and production teams to ensure that all products meet our high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits packages.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Assemble, program, and test RFID readers and other products which may consist of very small components.
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions.
  • Pick and pack products.
  • Accurately sort, count and verify inventory.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management such as inspection of materials and products, reporting of defects, calibration of equipment, documenting processes, soldering, and inventory count.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Fluency in verbal and written English, including the ability to read, write and interpret documents such as technical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety rules.
  • Initiative and self-direction, with the ability to work independently.
  • Team player mindset, with strong verbal and nonverbal interpersonal skills, collaboration, and group problem-solving.
  • Aptitude for technology, an interest in learning new technologies, and the ability to troubleshoot to resolve minor technical issues.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to follow specific work instructions and process control sheets to deliver precise work.
  • Ability to accurately count, sort and verify product received.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to sit/stand at workstation and maintain focus for the entirety of shift while performing repetitive and non-repetitive tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using a PC, with knowledge of Microsoft 365 programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook, or related software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Flexibility, with the ability to easily adapt to changes within the work environment, delays, or unexpected events
  • Safety focused, with an understanding and commitment to adhere to safety and ISO guidelines, including maintaining a clean and organized assembly bench area.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES THAT ARE PREFERRED FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Technical degree.
  • 1 year of experience in electronics assembly or manufacturing.
  • Ability to use power hand tools.
  • Experience in an ISO certified environment.
