What you will be doing

  • General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger by preparing and entering journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Accounts Payable: Process and reconcile accounts payable, ensuring timely payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations by comparing the company's records with bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all entries are completed on time and discrepancies are addressed.
  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies and proper documentation.
  • Fixed Assets: Track and manage fixed assets, including recording depreciation and asset disposals.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Journal Entries: Ensure all assigned journal entries are booked monthly including prepaids, amortization schedules, finance and operating leases.
  • Year-End Reporting: Process and send out 1099s.

What you need

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Netsuite preferred but not required)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other functions).
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing financial data.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with the accounting team and other departments.
  • Integrity: Strong sense of ethics and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines, particularly during month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Problem Solving: Capacity to analyze financial data and provide solutions to discrepancies or issues.
