Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a 2025 Summer Intern - Manufacturing Test Engineer.
Manufacturing Test Engineers provide support for all stages of a platform's program lifecycle. The Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) discipline is responsible for verification of the integrity of the aircraft build from subassembly to flight line. MTE provides the test equipment, the test procedures, and the on-floor test support needed to ensure functional compliance of every aircraft throughout the build-cycle.

This individual selected for this position will be embedded in developing and maintaining detailed System Checkout Procedures, the design and management of test equipment, the development and automation of software, and systems anomaly resolution. The day-to-day tasking will include working with design engineers and shop floor personnel to support production of our various platforms.

This position requires a detail-oriented and organized candidate with demonstrated technical proficiency and capability. Strong communication skills - written and verbal - are required to successfully interface with various departments within Aero.

This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering. Technology-related degree plan also acceptable, e.g., Electrical Engineering Technology, Aeronautics Engineering Technology.
Degrees with Manufacturing Testing competency will be considered
Desire to obtain an Operations role indicated by expressing interest in 'hands-on' applications of engineering principles
This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired skills

Demonstrated analytical troubleshooting abilities to solve complex system-level problems
Member of the SME, SAE, ASME, or other similar technical organization
Design, build club/project experience (i.e., SAE Formula and Baja)
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
Ability to succeed in dynamic, elevated-urgency environments with multi-directional deliverables
Software programming experience
Previous manufacturing or operations experience

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $20,904 - $61,672. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
