We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Container Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical for designing, architecting, configuring, and deploying multi-vendor container environments to meet our business needs. The selected candidate will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure the delivery of high-performance, reliable, and secure container solutions. This position offers the opportunity to engage in a wide range of responsibilities from translating business needs into long-term architecture solutions to developing and integrating systems. The role is full-time and the candidate will be part of an innovative team that values collaboration, technical expertise, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities
  • Design and architect container solutions, including Kubernetes, Longhorn, Tanzu, Docker, and OpenShift, to meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain directory, monitoring, clustering, and configuration management environments, ensuring high performance, stability, reliability, serviceability, and security.
  • Conduct technology reviews to align the environment with current trends in directory, monitoring, clustering, configuration management technology.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, including Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors.
  • Manage projects independently, including risk analysis and ensuring timely delivery of Engineering Service Requests.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on container solutions, and assist/mentor junior engineers.
  • Design and document new implementations of the container environment stack, coordinating installation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Automate aspects of the container environment to enhance efficiency, including deployment, SSL certificate monitoring/requests, patching, and upgrades.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in designing, architecting, configuring, and deploying container solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Longhorn, Tanzu, Docker, and OpenShift.
  • Experience with directory, monitoring, clustering, and configuration management technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of partners, both internal and external.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to independently manage projects and deliver on time.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide technical guidance and leadership.
  • Experience in documenting architecture and design choices, including Low Level Design and High-Level Design.
  • Knowledge of integrating container systems into enterprise Configuration Management Databases.
  • Skilled in automating container environment aspects to enhance operational efficiency.
