Job Description:
We are seeking an Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Municipality Projects Sector Lead to help guide and execute projects for our municipality projects.
You will be responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget of projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration.
Responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure a successful delivery of assigned projects.
Work with interdisciplinary technical leads in coordinated successful execution of projects in design and construction
Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this communicated to the project staff and stakeholders.
Manage staff utilization to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate issues to management
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Provide QA/QC review for design calculations and drawings
Serve as technical advisor for staff
Develop and mentor junior staff
Cultivate client relationships
Work on proposal development
Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
15 plus years of related technical experience
Relationship building skills
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other related software knowledge
Illinois PE license is a plus
