Job Description:

  • We are seeking an Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Municipality Projects Sector Lead to help guide and execute projects for our municipality projects.

  • You will be responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget of projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration.

  • Responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure a successful delivery of assigned projects.

  • Work with interdisciplinary technical leads in coordinated successful execution of projects in design and construction

  • Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this communicated to the project staff and stakeholders.

  • Manage staff utilization to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs to minimize risk

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Report and escalate issues to management

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders

  • Provide QA/QC review for design calculations and drawings

  • Serve as technical advisor for staff

  • Develop and mentor junior staff

  • Cultivate client relationships

  • Work on proposal development

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

  • 15 plus years of related technical experience

  • Relationship building skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other related software knowledge

  • Illinois PE license is a plus
