Solar Construction Manager

Location: West Coast; Southern California | Reports to: Director of Construction

A leading renewable energy client of Appleton Finn - that specializes in delivery design-build commercial & industrial (C&I) solar projects across Southern California - is seeking a dedicated Construction Manager to lead the execution of their solar projects.

With a rapidly growing portfolio, the company is committed to expanding clean energy infrastructure while fostering a collaborative, hands-on work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of solar project construction, from planning to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate project designs, schedules, and execution strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards at all project sites.
  • Identify and address any project challenges, proactively implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Lead construction activities for community-scale and C&I solar projects, focusing on the East Coast, with travel to project sites.
  • Contribute to the development of construction processes, standards, and safety plans.

Qualifications:

  • [Essential] Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar project construction management, with a focus on community-scale or C&I projects.
  • [Essential] Certified Electrician & 5+ years experience managing electrical construction projects.
  • [Essential] Experience as a Superintendent or General Foreman for solar and/or electrical projects.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, project management, and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore) and OSHA safety certifications.
  • Ability to travel extensively across Southern California
