Our client, a privately owned NYC based growth-oriented supermarket chain, is seeking a strong leader to guide them as they embark on an expansion plan.

As the highest-ranking executive in the company, the CEO will be primarily responsible for leading the company in making major decisions for the organization.

Duties include:

• Act as the figurative head of the organization when communicating with the greater marketplace.
• Lead the development of the organization’s long- and short-term strategies.
• Take ownership of achieving corporate financial results.
• Manage overall operations and make major decisions affecting the organization.
• Manage the organization’s resources.
• Negotiate or approve agreements and contracts for the organization when necessary.
• Manage company organizational structure.
• Communicate with the Corporate Ownership group.
• Assess and minimize risks to the company.
• Provide company-wide leadership.
• Serve as the company’s primary spokesperson.
• Identify and address companywide problems.
• Develop and uphold the company’s culture and mission/vision.
• Implement strategic plans by working with senior stakeholders.
• Evaluate and track the success of the company in reaching its goals.

Requirements:

• 15+ plus years as an executive in the supermarket industry (VERY MUCH PREFERRED).
• Substantial general management experience, an expert in leading and inspiring sizable teams.
• Sharp intellect and well developed analytical and critical reasoning skills.
• Ability to integrate their own leadership style into a business with a strong existing culture and identity.
• Experience of managing a growth program and a strong management mind set.
