What Will You Be Doing?

The inspector will spend about 60% of shift inspecting product, 30% sorting product and 10% tending to a vision system. Inspector will need to be proficient using micrometers and calipers in order to measure and inspect parts.

  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products or work for conformance to specifications
  • Perform first article/ISIR dimensional inspection layouts
  • Ability to understand and create/complete PPAP documentation
  • Support and complete SPC inspection and dimensional layout requirements
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of all computer applications, measurement equipment (CMM, Comparator, etc.) in the quality room and on the shop floor
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as comparators, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
  • Mark items with details such as grade or pass-fail status
  • Sort any bad product found for the defective dimension
  • Notify supervisors, owners or workers of production problems
  • Advise others on ways to improve processes or products
  • Compute defect percentages or averages, using formulas and calculators
  • Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results
  • Conduct the first part(s) of inspection

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to lift up to 35lbs

  • The ability to climb stairs, to kneel, bend, reach and/or crouch to retrieve equipment and other items

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Micrometer: 3 years (Required)
  • comparator: 3 years (Preferred)
  • GD&T: 3 years (Preferred)
  • PPAP: 3 years (Preferred)
  • small parts inspection: 3 years (Preferred)
  • first article inspection: 3 years (Required)

Shift availability:

  • 1st shift (6am-2:30pm)
  • 2nd shift (2pm-10pm)

Pay:

  • $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
