Use your skills in electrical engineering, system integration, computer systems architecture, schematic design, digital and analog circuits, power and voltage regulator integration, high speed signal integrity concepts, PCB design, bring-up, system level troubleshooting, and collaboration with multi-functional teams to make design decisions that will benefit millions of Mac users worldwide!We are a team of system electrical engineers that own entire products from concept to ship. Description

Responsibilities of the Senior Hardware Systems Engineer shall include the following:Component data-sheet analysis and selection for schematic captureCoordinate layout of highly constrained multilayer PCBs including HDI and fine pitch BGAsForecast and plan design time to meet constrained schedulesDrive design tradeoffs across manufacturing, test, thermal, performance, reliability, and electrical stakeholdersPrototype bring-up, debug, functional verification, and electrical characterizationUse advanced lab tools such as 25 GHz oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and BERT scopes to judge the quality and robustness of electrical designsAnalyze factory-scale data to adjust signal parameters for maximum marginDebug problems found in manufacturing, feedback root cause and corrective action into design or manufacturing process in preparation for high volume.Communicate and present status on concurrent top issues and deadlinesLead, teach, and mentor more junior engineersCandidates should be able to take complete ownership of assigned projects

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Experience with schematic, PCB physical design using Cadence Concept and Allegro or similar CAD tools
• Lab skills: oscilloscopes, logic and protocol analyzers, electronic loads, etc
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience. High-volume consumer electronics system experience preferred.
• Experience leading technically complex projects that are dynamic and business critical
• Design experience in digital logic, simulation, power conversion and delivery
• Familiarity with RF/wireless concepts
• Experience with high-speed serial and memory interfaces including signal integrity design and measurement fundamentals
• Command line interface and scripting skills
• Specific deep expertise in several of the following areas is required: CPU or GPU microarchitecture, batteries, power management, analog design, audio, wireless, DisplayPort, HDMI, PCIe, Thunderbolt, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, analog sensors, interconnect
• Statistical data analysis and visualization (ex. JMP) is a plus
