As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will provide engineering and operational support for corporate infrastructure security systems. This role demands expertise in Cisco firewall and VPN technologies, analyzing firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, and troubleshooting complex security incidents. You will lead investigations into security vulnerabilities and issues, perform audits of user and network activities, and act as a Tier 3 escalation point for junior engineers, offering mentorship and guidance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience with Cisco security solutions
  • 3-5 years of Cisco networking experience
  • Proven experience deploying and managing Cisco security systems
  • Strong knowledge of identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities
  • Skilled in conducting thorough security investigations
  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, routing, and switching
  • Deep expertise in Cisco firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot security issues independently
  • Capable of handling confidential information with care

Preferred Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Cisco professional certification(s) (e.g., CCNP, CCNP Security)
  • CISSP certification is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure network architectures using Cisco security technologies (e.g., ASA, Firepower, ISE, Umbrella, XDR).
  • Integrate security solutions with routing technologies (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Cisco security devices.
  • Continuously monitor network traffic and identify suspicious activity using tools like Cisco Stealthwatch and Firepower Management Center.
  • Keep all security systems updated with the latest patches and updates.
  • Document security infrastructure and configurations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other internal IT teams to ensure cohesive security measures.
  • Evaluate new security technologies and provide recommendations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents to identify root causes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead security projects, ensuring completion on time and within scope.
