Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of IT networking experience within the U.S.
• Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Certifications (issued within the last 4 years):
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
  • Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) from Palo Alto Networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and document computer networks and infrastructure.
• Monitor performance and document a statewide network using industry best practices.
• Develop and analyze network designs and protocols, including prototyping and assessments.
• Plan, engineer, forecast, and implement network systems, identifying resource requirements.
• Lead major network projects to support capacity growth, upgrades, and integration.
• Evaluate current network systems, recommend changes, and train support staff.
• Apply expertise in LAN, WAN, wireless, data center, cloud networking, and interconnection.
• Ensure network security compliance, change control processes, and standard adherence.
• Diagnose, isolate, and resolve network issues, identifying root causes.
• Proactively identify production issues and recommend solutions.
• Create comprehensive documentation for network designs and manage implementations.
• Lead weekly status meetings and report project progress.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Expertise in Layer 2 & 3 optimization, scalable routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
• Experience in data center/cloud networking, SDN, load balancing, and storage.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Network Access, micro-segmentation, high availability in enterprise environments, and advanced WAN services.
• Familiarity with network security services (NAC, malware filtering, VPN, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Palo Alto platforms, and enterprise wireless access systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently, mentor junior associates, and produce technical documents.

Abilities:

• Independently manage complex network environments and mentor junior staff.
• Communicate effectively through presentations and written documentation.
• Produce technical diagrams, design documents, project plans, and user instructions.
