Responsibilities
- Legal Counsel: Provide comprehensive legal advice and counsel on a wide range of legal issues, including debt collection, corporate governance, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Litigation Management: Oversee and manage all litigation matters, including pre-trial preparation, trial strategy, and post-trial proceedings.
- Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including vendor agreements, leases, and employment contracts.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including those related to debt collection, consumer protection, and corporate governance.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks to the company, and develop strategies to minimize exposure.
- Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder resolutions, and compliance with corporate formalities.
- Legal Department Management: Manage and supervise the legal department, including staff, budget, and workload.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the Florida Bar.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing law, with a strong focus on debt collections and corporate law.
- Demonstrated experience in handling complex litigation matters, including trial experience.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analysis skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Bilingual
- Experience working in the property sector.
- Knowledge of [relevant laws or regulations].
