About the job

Are you a licensed California Structural Engineer (SE) with a strong track record in client engagement and business development? We are seeking a Structural Engineering Lead to help guide and grow our West Coast structural engineering team. You will split your time between project delivery and business development, focusing on sectors such as commercial, higher education, museums, and airports.

In this role, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, drive the strategy for the team, and mentor junior members, all while maintaining high standards of project delivery. You will also be responsible for cultivating relationships with key clients and collaborators, attending industry events, and securing new commissions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the structural engineering team in achieving business and project goals.
  • Split responsibilities between project delivery (50%) and business development (50%).
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen client relationships and win new work.
  • Support the team in aligning regional goals with overall business strategy.
  • Oversee project delivery to ensure scope, budget, and timeline are met.
  • Assist with creating fee estimates for various project types.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the highest level of client care.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of Structural Engineering experience, focusing on large-scale projects such as commercial, higher education, museums, and airports.
  • Licensed California SE.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience in business development, including securing significant project commissions.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Masters Degree in Structural Engineering.
