Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Location: Costa Mesa, CA | Hybrid: 3 days on-site / 2 days remote
Salary: $140,000 - $165,000 + Bonuses

This role is for a private investment firm specializing in long-term investments in franchise brands with 25 500 units and leverages over 30 years of experience in franchise operations, development, and investment. Headquartered in Costa Mesa, CA this firm is in its growth-stage with restaurant franchisors to help founders and management teams scale beyond their initial stages.
Our portfolio includes wide variety of restaurant brands and concepts with fresh acquisitions solidifying our focus on building dynamic, sustainable restaurant companies.
The Role: Senior Manager of FP&A
Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting across three restaurant brands in our portfolio. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both in-office and remotely, providing strategic financial insights to drive the growth and performance of these franchise brands. The position reports directly to the VP of Finance & Accounting and plays a key role in guiding financial strategies and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports for executive teams and boards of directors.
- Variance Reporting: Investigate and report on discrepancies between actuals and forecasts.
- Cash Flow & Budget Management: Develop and manage weekly cash flow forecasts, maintain budgets, and lead budgeting processes across brands.
- KPI Dashboards & Analytics: Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track brand performance.
- Data Analysis & Scenario Modeling: Conduct in-depth analyses, scenario modeling, and build management presentations to support decision-making.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with departments like Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to optimize performance and ensure effective financial management.
- Franchisor Compliance: Assist in preparing Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDD) and act as a subject matter expert on back-office solutions for franchise operations.
- Project Management: Lead and manage special projects to drive operational improvements and growth.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 7 10 years of financial planning, analysis, and accounting experience (preferably in the restaurant or franchise industries).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience with financial consolidation processes.
- Proficiency with NetSuite is highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills with expertise in modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering reports to executive leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience working with SaaS tools for franchise or restaurant management is a plus.
