We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Data Analyst to join our team. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analysis techniques, a passion for uncovering insights from complex data sets, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You Will Be Doing
- Requirement gathering and Analysis: Collecting business requirements, documenting and reporting them to stakeholders
- Documenting projects: Maintaining documentation for projects, processes, and operation
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, process, and clean data from different sources. Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Data Mapping: Understand the data objects, and create a source to target mapping reference document that engineers can use to build data pipelines
- Problem-Solving: Identify business needs and challenges. Use data-driven insights to solve problems and improve business operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various teams (like IT, sales, marketing, finance, etc.) to understand their processes and needs, and provide data-driven solutions.
- Facilitator: Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meetings.
- Impediment Removal: Assist the team in getting rid of obstacles that are hindering progress.
- Coaching: Coach the team in Agile/Scrum principles with the goal of increasing the team performance.
- Process Improvement: Promote continuous improvement and help the team to increase productivity.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a buffer between the team and distracting influences, and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
- Backlog Prioritization: Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to manage and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and dependencies.
- Change Management: Assist in managing project changes, ensuring proper communication and documentation of scope adjustments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a data analyst role or a similar position, ideally with a strong background in business analysis, system analysis, and project management.
- Experience supporting teams in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, is highly preferred. Scrum or project management certification (CSP, CMS, PMP, etc) is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Draw.io, Visio, Lucid).
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and extract meaningful insights. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Employment type: Full-time permanent employment at Concord.
- Location: Hybrid-flexible work model in the Minneapolis area.
