Job Title: Release Train Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL 60606 (4 days onsite a week).

Duration: 2 months+ contract (high chance extension)

Notes:

Contract Duration: Now- Dec 31st (high chance extension) need candidates open to potentially be covert in April next year for a perm role.

Description:

Optimize value flow through the Agile Release Train (ART) and Solution Train using Agile tools and methods.

Establish and maintain Iteration and Program Increment (PI) calendars.

Facilitate Continuous Exploration processes for PI Planning readiness, including Vision and Roadmap synthesis.

Track the execution of features and capabilities within the ART.

Support the alignment of strategy and execution by collaborating with Product and Solution Management and other stakeholders

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience in the technology industry as a Release Train Engineer.

Certified SAFe Scrum Master or equivalent Agile framework certification.

Proficient in the use of Agile management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and Knowledgeable in Lean-Agile principles and practices.

Experience with Program Increment (PI) planning, feature estimation, and Agile metrics.

In addition to the standard Agile Project Manager qualifications, this resource should have a strong grasp on all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including feature and user story refinement, low-level technical artifacts such as sequence diagrams, be proficient in Azure DevOps/ADO (Microsoft's equivalent of Jira), and have experience both coordinating and leading Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies such as PI Planning, PI Retrospectives, definition and tracking of PI Objectives/Outcomes, and creation/maintenance of ART metrics and dashboards in ADO (burn down/burn up charts, velocity measurement, capacity tracking, OKR/KPI definition and measurement, RAID log management, etc.)
