Luxelocker Architecture Job Description

Role

Designing luxury storage projects exclusively for Luxelocker, the in-house Project Architect will be responsible for efficiently and effectively managing, designing and delivering successful building projects through a pro-active delivery process whether with in-house staff or outside AEC team members and according to office standards and processes. Responsibilities include involvement from schematic design through construction on projects, reviewing shop drawings and related submittals, coordinating consultants in all phases and directing the production of the projects.

Position Responsibilities & Essential function

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school
  • Must be a licensed architect
  • 10+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, landscape, and civil consultants
  • Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Understanding of how buildings are constructed and ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be built
  • Will be required to participate in the construction administration process reviewing RFI s, submittals, change directives and addendum.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 8 - 20 years of relevant architecture and design experience, with a strong background in construction documents (drawings and specifications) and construction administration
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes
  • Extensive experience dealing with local jurisdictions to obtain planning approvals and permits
  • Strong knowledge of the design process
  • Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
  • Licensed / Registered Architect. Willing to obtain new licenses in multiple states.
  • An understanding of construction processes and methods and how it impacts the project
  • The ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and adjust work accordingly often against fast deadlines.
