We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Database Administrator/Engineer based in ITASCA, Illinois. The primary function of this role is to manage and maintain databases within the IT industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for building data warehouses, administering databases, and modeling data warehouses. This role will also require experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server, and Data Warehouses among others.

Responsibilities include:

Administering databases to ensure functionality and efficiency

Constructing data warehouses to support business intelligence activities

Modeling data warehouses to meet the specific needs of our business

Utilizing Microsoft Azure for various tasks, including data management and storage

Utilizing Microsoft SQL Server for database management and data analysis tasks

Utilizing Azure Data Factory for orchestrating and automating data movement and data transformation

Leveraging ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration and data warehousing

If applicable, using Microsoft Power BI for creating reports and data visualization.

Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL Server

Demonstrated experience in Database Administration

Strong understanding and experience in Data Modeling

Proficiency in Azure Data Factory

Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Power BI

Familiarity with ETL - Extract Transform Load processes

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Proven track record of maintaining complex database systems

Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices

Ability to accommodate changing business needs and provide timely solutions

Strong initiative and drive to exceed expectations

Willingness to keep up to date with the latest trends and changes in the field

Professional attitude and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
