Traditional Medicare Billing Collections Specialist
Knowing the following items is critical to success in this job:
1.Reviews and prepares UB-92 and HCFA-1500 claim forms for submission to Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus in a timely and accurate manner.
2.Maintains current status with daily billing download as well as all secondary claims, cross-over forms and referrals from other departments.
3.Reviews, corrects and follows up on all Medicare claims via the Florida Shared System maintaining an acceptable status.
4.Maintains a current working knowledge of all changes in billing guidelines and regulations for Medicare, Medicaid and Champus.
5.Works with other departments to resolve billing issues and ensure compliance with all Government regulations.
6.Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury accident to Manager.

What are the responsibilities?
- Will cover traditional Medicare account
- Billing and following up with claims
- Balance conciliation
- Claims corrections, etc
What is the schedule?
- We offer a fully remote schedule with flexible hours
- The first 90 days are on site so you can learn our systems. Those hours are 6a 2:45p.
- Overtime and shift differentials are available
What systems do we use?
- SSI is our billing application
- STAR contains our patient demographic details, charges, diagnosis, insurance information,
- DDE is our claims status system
- MMX is our documentation and communication tool with other departments.
What is our team like?
- We do $50 million in collections each month
- We are a very experienced team of 15 who enjoy a fast-paced environment.
- We believe in a team effort, meaning we will help each other with aging accounts.
- Attention to detail, being numbers oriented and organization is important!
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience with the UB04, ICD-Codes
- Most likely have hospital billing experience
- Have experience with traditional Medicare billing
