What To Expect
Tesla’s Energy Remanufacturing team is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Industrial Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a factory environment, preferably involving work with medium to high volume products. This position will require understanding of Warehousing Operations and IT System Development: operational bottlenecks and system capabilities/needs.
What You'll Do
Manage capacity planning standards for all energy remanufacturing lines in the factoryCreate operating plans for all production lines, including labor requirements, breaking strategies, and shift schedules using linear programming, and assess headcount addition/removal requests based on line needs and requirementsConduct options analysis for existing line optimization and new line installations and estimate resource requirements for factory footprint expansion projectsPerform capacity studies and static sensitivity analyses to identify factors impacting line throughput (OEE, Headcount, number of material handling equipment) and make recommendations for improvementPerform discrete event simulation modeling and statistical modeling to influence key business decisionsLead continuous improvement exercises across various manufacturing functions and standardize metrics and problem solving toolsDesign assembly line, support space, and amenity area layouts using quantitative and qualitative evaluation techniques to facilitate smooth operations and optimize cost/sqft
What You'll Bring
3+ years’ experience in Industrial Engineering or equivalent relevant experienceBachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experienceDemonstrated leadership and ability to drive multiple projects with diverse teams in a manufacturing environment Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlinesExperience with automated/semi-automated manufacturing lines and robotics is a plusDistinguishing experiences/skills: 2D CAD, lean manufacturing, work measurement, analytics (SQL, Tableau), discrete event simulation (FlexSIM), operations research, lean manufacturing, scale manufacturing experience, etc.Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

Expected Compensation
$61,200 - $214,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
