Qualification:

We are seeking a Workday Finance Functional Consultant with expertise in Workday Financials to lead the configuration and enhancement of our financial systems. The consultant will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Financials, focusing on system design, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing. The role requires a deep understanding of key financial concepts, such as Ledger Accounts, Cost Centers, Journal Entries, and Accounts Payable, and will involve working in a hybrid environment (AWS cloud and on-prem).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation, design, and configuration of new Workday Financials features and functionalities.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis of Workday Financial processes and upcoming features impacting Finance.
  • Act as the SME for Workday Financials, ensuring the best technology solutions meet business needs.
  • Define and deliver feature roadmaps and technology solutions for business partners.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades and deployments.
  • Support Lead Analysts with operational and project needs.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise in Workday Financials through research and training.
  • Identify inefficiencies in processes and propose improvements to leadership.
  • Lead project initiatives, including conducting meetings, providing updates, and meeting deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and consultants.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with Workday Financials.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management, project scheduling, quality assurance testing, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of key financial concepts, including:
  • Ledger Accounts
  • Cost Centers
  • Journal Entries
  • Account Posting Rules
  • Costing Allocations
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Accounts Payable
  • Preferred experience with Workday HCM modules, report writing, and dashboards.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions by gathering extensive data and conducting research.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities quickly.
