About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a non-profit organization in search of an experienced Insurance Specialist. This is a contract position where you'll be working directly with the Risk & Safety Department, collaborating with leadership to manage insurance claims and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Description:

As an Insurance Specialist, you will support the Risk & Safety team, providing guidance on complex insurance matters and claims processes. You'll work closely with key stakeholders, including the Senior Manager of Security and Risk Management, to handle insurance coverage, reporting, and legal strategies related to claims. You will also oversee the work of the Claims Coordinator, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing incident and accident reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Facilitate the timely submission of claims to insurance carriers or administrators.
  • Analyze incidents to determine claim eligibility and coverage.
  • Track and manage claims, coordinating with legal teams as needed.
  • Regularly update insurance brokers with loss reports and analysis.
  • Generate reports to monitor claim trends and provide metrics to leadership.
  • Review financial transactions related to claims and maintain communication with claims administrators.
  • Act as the Employer Representative during legal proceedings, including hearings and mediations.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and documentation for leadership as required.
  • Stay up-to-date on laws and regulations concerning tort liability and workers compensation.
  • Provide expert guidance on insurance coverage, claims investigations, and policy renewals.
  • Review insurance certificates and legal contracts to assess compliance with coverage requirements.
  • Investigate and report suspected fraudulent claims.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in insurance claims management, preferably across multiple insurance lines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Experience using Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) and claims reporting platforms.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Preferred certifications include Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), and other related designations.
