Job Overview

As the Head of Finance, you will have a transformative impact on the organization by steering its financial strategies and operational excellence. Working in close collaboration with the CEO, you will be responsible for setting and managing budgets, devising strategic plans, and guiding the financial trajectory of the company. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, analysis, and budgeting initiatives.
  • Develop thorough financial models to bolster grants, fundraising endeavors, and strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise the monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), goal-setting processes, and internal communication strategies.
  • Assess financial plans for substantial capital projects and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to navigate both dilutive and non-dilutive fundraising avenues.
  • Manage the business operations team, which consists of full-time and part-time members across HR, finance, recruiting, and administrative functions.
  • Ensure seamless operations through effective management of essential activities.
  • Foster a proactive mindset among team members to propel the organization forward.
  • Engage in on-site responsibilities at the pilot facility in Alameda.

Required Skills

  • Strong financial acumen with advanced proficiency in Excel is highly desirable.
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach with readiness to undertake hands-on tasks within a startup framework.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of ensuring accountability among technical and business teams.
  • Ability to construct clear and effective financial models, project management plans, and presentations to assess and advance company initiatives.
  • Enthusiasm for engaging with intricate technical details.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in finance, corporate development, or consulting.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a startup environment is preferred.
  • Proven experience with large-scale capital projects and CAPEX-intensive businesses.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, industrial engineering, business, engineering, or a related field.
