Job Description

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will focus on assigned account customer growth and new customer development in the Food Industry.

The RSM will be

Focused on developing business at Regional Food manufacturing accounts, Regional FS chains, and small to medium size FS distributors.

The conduit between the customer and Harris Spice.

Proficient and effective in communication, written and verbal, creative in problem solving.

Energetic, well-spoken, eager to close sales and most importantly develop relationships based on Trust.

Position is remote and can require up to 60% travel

Position is customer centric reports to the Vice President, Business Development

Key Responsibilities

Strengthen relationships at all levels of assigned key account customers based on Trust and Performance

Research potential customer requirements, menu design, business size, current suppliers, etc

Analyze current trends within the market and remain informed of market conditions, product innovations, competitors' products, prices, and sales; share information with customers, along with new menu ideas and products, as part of value-added services provided

Maintain ongoing relationships with key decision makers; leverage industry contacts to follow decision makers as they move

Attend sales meetings, food shows, and vendor, marketing and industry events

Know how to on-board, do account research, penetration, warming and closing techniques

Analyze existing customers and look for additional opportunities and growth, while successfully fulfilling their current needs

Search out and qualify potential new customers in the Food Industry

Work with all internal disciplines in fulfilling customer requirements.

Attain/exceed approved sales goals.

Be a student of effective Time Management.

Be a Team Player

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience selling in food industry (preferably spices, seasonings, and ingredients)

College degree preferred.

Desire to become a Product Subject Matter Expert.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Possess an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor.

Eager to expand sales, clients, and relationships.

Self-motivated and self-directed.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

Tenacity to handle rejection and continue-on with a positive attitude.
