SUMMARY:



We're currently looking for a passionate Senior Backend Software Engineer (Python/React) to join our team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience in Python, skilled with Python based web frameworks like Django or Flask, experience developing cloud-native applications in Google Cloud & AWS and knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.



RESPONSIBILTIES:



  • Building a platform at this scale and releasing new multi-platform features with zero downtime multiple

  • Contribute to the backend development of world-class mobile, web, and desktop products using Python, Django, and Flask.

  • Build new capabilities into our web platform that is used by a million people per day while maintaining reliability, scalability, and code quality.

  • Participate in development of unit tests and code reviews.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex system issues.

  • Participate in our Agile Scrum process including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Design teams integrated into our Agile "pods".



REQUIRE SKILLS & EXPEIRENCE:




  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology/Systems, or related fields

  • 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.

  • Track record of developing scalable and high-traffic web, mobile, and desktop applications.

  • History of working on complex projects and ability to work cross-team to solve problems.

  • Advanced skills in building web application backends in Python and Django/Flask.

  • Strong working knowledge of NoSQL data-stores, task queues, and common architectural components.

  • Understanding of Unix/Linux operating system.

  • Experience with developing cloud-native applications.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Desire to expand your skill sets and learn new technologies.

  • Relentless dedication and discipline in building world-class enduring software.



DESIRED SKILLS & EXPEIRENCE:




  • Experience with Google Firestore NoSQL database or similar databases (i.e., MongoDB, DynamoDB).

  • Knowles of public cloud platforms such as Google Cloud (preferred) and AWS

  • Familiarity with Docker for local virtualized development or other similar containerization technologies.
