Are you an experienced IT professional who excels at optimizing systems and enhancing the efficiency of systems and processes? Texas A&M University's Technology Services is actively seeking a Senior IT Professional I to join our Operations team onsite in College Station, Texas , to support our growing organization !

As a Senior IT Professional I in operations, you will play a critical role behind the scenes, ensuring that support teams have the tools, processes, and infrastructure they need to provide top-tier service to Texas A&M University faculty, staff, and students. Your expertise will help streamline operations, manage compliance, and ensure that technical standards are met across the board. You'll be instrumental in diagnosing issues that affect team performance and developing solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Here's a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Provide operational support to IT teams, optimizing systems and workflows to enhance service delivery.


  • Ensure compliance with Division of IT technical standards, security protocols, and University Standard Administrative Procedures.


  • Collaborate with support teams to troubleshoot complex technical issues, offering guidance and escalation paths.


  • Oversee system monitoring, security management, and proactive issue detection to prevent downtime.


  • Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives, ensuring smooth coordination between support teams and operations.


  • Participate in professional development opportunities to keep up with the latest technologies and best practices.

Salary: Commensurate

Location: Onsite position in College Station, Texas.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND Five years of information technology experience.


A well-qualified candidate would possess one or more of the following:

  • Degree in information technology or related field


  • More than five years combined customer service and technical support related experience


  • Expert Operating System knowledge (Windows, macOS, or Linux) , Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office or O365 , Expert troubleshooting knowledge, Expert client relations


  • While no licenses or certifications are required , having certifications such as Comp TIA A+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+), Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), SME Technology Specific Certification, Jamf Pro Certification would be advantageous .
