Summary

The Tableau/Crystal Reports Developer position at MedPOINT Management in the Health Information Technology (HIT) department is responsible for developing, designing, updating, and maintaining Tableau and Crystal Reports and dashboards that are used for analysis by the operational departments. In addition, this person prepares reports using the two visualization and data modeling methods depending on which tool is the best solution for the project requested. This position is part of the HIT reporting team reporting directly to the Senior Lead, BI Reporting Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop new and build improvements/updates to existing reports and dashboards using either Tableau and/or SAP Crystal Reports applications.

Assist with the development of effective reporting and dashboard standards, best practices, procedures, and key metrics.

Hands-on with Tableau Desktop (dashboard creation, report authoring, and troubleshooting, data source management).

Create and edit SQL queries within Tableau or Crystal Reports to build calculated fields.

Create interactive filters, parameters, and calculations for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau or for presenting data in Crystal Reports.

Have the confidence to work cross-functionally with various departments including business stakeholders and technical personnel to exchange ideas.

Apply graphical and visual design concepts in either Crystal or Tableau.

Perform detailed data analysis of data structures, content, and quality, and provide data dictionaries for new Tableau solutions and/or Crystal reports.

Assist with the migration of Crystal reports over to Tableau as needed.

Assist with testing, documenting, and training of new Tableau versions as IT upgrades the applications.

Other special projects as requested by management..

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent; or three years related experience and/or training; and four plus years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience with Crystal reports and Tableau.

Minimum of 5 years of Crystal Reports development experience.

Minimum of 3 years of Tableau development and administration experience.

Skill and Abilities

Strong SQL/Database skills with MS SQL Server.

Working knowledge of automated job scheduling.

Experience with software version control, change management processes, and data modeling concepts.

Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers with varying technical backgrounds.

EZ-CAP experience is a plus, not mandatory.

Experience in a Healthcare Domain preferred, not mandatory.

Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex solutions.

High energy levels and tolerance of tight deadlines, time pressures, and ambiguity.

Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision

Strong organizational skills a must.
