Job Description

The engineering test technician shall support the director of product engineering in testing and evaluating company products, both new model prototypes as well as customer field failure returns. Testing will be performed following test procedures, but will also rely upon the technician having a keen eye for quality issues as well as product behavior that would lead to customer dissatisfaction. Reports with photos and videos will be required for each test performed. Products are consumer electronics, primarily home comfort and convenience items such as smart ceiling fans, interior and exterior lighting and USB charging devices.

This position will be a work from home position, with the ideal candidate being located in the Mesa, AZ area as there will be collaboration and in person training and equipment set up. The candidate will be provided with small handheld instruments for taking critical measurements and will need to be able to assemble, install and test these products in their home. A company ship-to address and mailbox is provided at a local UPS store, as well as a storage unit for sample storage.

The ideal candidate will:

-have a mechanical aptitude and an ability to work with their hands

-have a basic understanding of electrical systems

-have a strong work ethic, being motivated by pride in work

-have an ability to learn new skills quickly

-have an ability to take pertinent photos and videos and write reports in MS Word and MS Outlook for email

-be able to take direction, but not afraid to ask questions

-have a good attitude

-have own smartphone and internet service
