Major Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform analytical and administrative work for the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) division.
  • Analyze workforce demographics and compile data.
  • Create DEI Programs to promote diversity throughout the Agency.
  • Conduct EEO/DEI training as needed.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, charts and reports to monitor effects of diversity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, employee groups, and external partners.
  • Provide ongoing support as needed.
  • Work on special assignments as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to compile and use data to inform discussions. 2. High proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. 3. Excellent writing, administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. 4. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and conduct effective follow-through. 5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 6. Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters. 7. Interest in diversity, equity and inclusion.

Residency Requirement

Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.
