Amentum is seeking a Meteorology and Oceanography Training Subject Matter Expert (METOC) to join our NIWTG team in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

What you'll do:
  • Liaison with Commander Naval Information Warfare Training Group (CNIWTG) leadership, contract team and staff in the development and maintenance of training courses and associated materials and documents.
  • Design, write and develop instructional materials and support course content to build effective learning experiences for METOC.
  • Develop learning objectives and goals for each new curriculum and review learning objective for existing curriculum for METOC.
  • Liaison with CNIWTG staff to document, interpret, and analyze current and fielded METOC training requirements.
  • Review of individual and Fleet training to ensure synchronization with established doctrine/Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTP).
  • Assist the government in adapting or extending available material or developing new training methodologies and techniques as required in support of METOC training program.
  • Conduct research and support revising current METOC training courses and prepare appropriate training materials in support of METOC training.
  • Conduct initial validity and reliability studies and survey of METOC training plans.
  • Provide project guidelines and periodic review of progress (Monthly).
  • Assist the government in developing exam materials. To be determined upon completion of the METOC training strategy.

Minimum Requirements:

The following knowledge, skills and abilities are minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must have an Active Top Secret/SCI US Government Clearance. Note: ship is required to maintain an Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • 10+ years demonstrated expertise in the field of Meteorology.
  • 8 years of Naval Experience with Fleet Weather experience.
  • Familiar with Navy's curriculum development process (NAVEDTRA 130b series) and methodology for the development of Navy curriculum.
  • Experience in curriculum development and conversion of training materials for Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), blended training materials, and courseware for delivery using current technologies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to produce finished products, liaise with current and potential customers, prepare and present briefing documents, charts, graphs, and presentations.
  • Experience with learning theory and instructional technologies.
  • Ability to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material into well-written concise learning products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully individually, within a team, and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent computer skills and use of Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Oceanography or Meteorology preferred
