Job Description
CSS is currently recruiting a Safety Specialist to provide environment, occupational safety and industrial hygiene services for our Federal government client.
- Conducting environment, safety and health inspections
- Investigating and documenting employee Injuries, Illnesses, Near Misses and Incidents pertaining to fire and other emergencies
- Responding to Chemical Spills
- Issuing Hot Work and Confined Space Entry Permits
- Updating and maintaining SDS Records
- Assisting with the planning and evaluating evacuation drills
- Assisting with machine guarding assessments
- Maintaining a document filing system (both electronic and paper files)
- Coordinating and conducting Environmental, Safety, Fire Prevention, and Health Training
- Assisting in the development and implementation of equipment-specific energy control procedures
- Conducting exposure monitoring to occupational stressors such as noise, dust, airborne chemicals and non-ionizing radiation
- Conducting Job safety analyses (JSAs) and training employees on JSAs
Required Qualifications:
- BS degree in environmental science, safety, occupational health, physical science, or engineering
- 1 or more years of experience working in the environment, safety and industrial hygiene field and knowledge of applicable standards and regulations
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Agency level clearance is required for this position
