  1. Make sure the webpage is open.

  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Position Title: Mechanical Engineer Intern

Compensation: $40 - $60 Hourly

Overview:

The Chassis Mechanical team is responsible for the hardware of the brakes, steering, and suspension components. We are currently seeking an intern to work on chassis mechanical systems. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Take one or more technical projects, related to suspension, steering, and/or braking from idea to completion
  • Apply data-driven decision making and teamwork to solve complex problems and questions
  • Support other engineers in component/system design and validation, data collection and analysis, program management, and logistics
  • Ask questions, absorb information, and develop technical skills to make the most of this opportunity - we’re here to help you as much as you’re here to help us!

Qualification:

  • Experience with a CAD program (CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD, Creo, etc)
  • Experience in the design and validation of structural components
  • Proven knowledge of engineering fundamentals behind passenger vehicles, especially their suspension, steering, and braking systems
  • A desire to apply what you know, but also question every assumption
  • Experience with Formula SAE Electric, Baja SAE, or other automotive team/technology

Preferred Qualification:

  • Past intern experience in Auto or similar a plus
  • Experience with strength and stiffness simulations of components
  • Experience with data collection and data post-processing
  • Experience with the disassembly and assembly of vehicles

Education:

  • Field(s) of study: Mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university
  • Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)

Compensation:

The compensation for this role is $40 - $60 Hourly
