Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)
Pay Range: $ 69.03 $ 72.26 per hour

The Project Manager plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define project objectives & oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Direct & manage project development from beginning to end, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Define project scope, goals & deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimate resources & participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Set &continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify & resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify & manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan & schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones & deliverables.
  • Develop & deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine frequency & content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria & disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, & motivate project team members to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, & grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices & tools for project execution and management.

Position Requirements:
Education & Corresponding Experience
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, business administration or management, organizational development, engineering, computer science, or other technical related discipline is preferred.
    • 10 years of experience is required with a bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
    • 12 years of experience is required with a bachelor's degree in a non-applicable field.
    • 14 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
  • Experience should be in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of product management as well as process management.
  • Strong analytic skills and the ability to perform root cause identification/analysis.
  • Experience influencing and integrating change in a large, diverse organization.
  • Experience leading project teams, management review, and decision-making sessions supporting organization level improvement efforts.
  • Experience managing projects in accordance with industry project management principles.
  • Ability to organize and analyze detailed information and present it in a variety of formats for business, executive, and technical audiences.
  • Ability to assess and estimate project costs.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience in the utility business.
  • PMI or PMP certification.
  • Experience in resource planning.
