Summary
Works autonomously with minimal supervision to support the entire Commercial Banking Team by receiving, directing, and assisting clients and preparing correspondence, memos, and other loan documents. Assures compliance with regulatory requirements and the bank’s customer service standards. Must have a thorough understanding of most types of loans and other related requirements and be able to exercise discretion and independently act to meet those requirements. Gathers, compiles, and evaluates information and makes recommendations. Ensures that all documents necessary for completion of a loan are received. Must have thorough knowledge of all deposit and Treasury Management products, as well as all other services offered to Commercial clients.

- Represents the bank in a positive, courteous, friendly, and professional manner at all times, including in-person contact, as well as telephone, email and other methods of communicating.
- Provides active management for the loan portfolio and general administrative support for the Commercial Banking Team, including the Division Manager, Commercial Team Leader, Commercial Relationship Manager, and Treasury Services Manager.
- Evaluates the needs of Commercial clients and determines the most appropriate solution or manner of resolution with customer service inquiries, problem resolution, opening of new deposit accounts, etc.
- Responsible for ordering and evaluating information from loan clients, title companies, and other parties, including employment verifications, credit reports, collateral information, title work, flood certifications, appraisals and other items to support Commercial Relationship Managers, Professional and Executive Relationship Managers, and Business Bankers in preparing for and closing commercial loans.
- Oversees the proper maintenance of electronic files by labeling, scanning, and saving loan documents and client information to the bank’s permanent computer storage area.
- Serves as an important liaison between clients and all parties involved in the transaction. Communicates with clients if any items are needed for loan submission and keeps clients informed of loan status.
- Actively represents the bank’s Commercial Team by ensuring overall customer satisfaction/customer retention efforts. Proactively contacts commercial clients to verify satisfactory resolution of previously identified errors, proper setup of new loans and deposit accounts, etc.
- Provides expertise to contribute to the success of the Commercial Team in overall new business development and prospecting efforts through research of potential client companies, maintaining prospect databases, preparation of marketing packets, etc.
- Works independently or proactively with the Commercial Team to resolve loan delinquencies and financial document and collateral exceptions in order to complete or close all types of projects assigned.
- Responsible for working with the Commercial Relationship Managers to monitor financial covenants and borrowing bases related to commercial loans.
- Processes loan advance/draw requests for proper approval and disburses accordingly.
- Disburses loan funds
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Possesses a minimum of three years progressively responsible work experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge in preparing and handling loan documentation supporting complex commercial loans.
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Some college of technical training and/or previous commercial banking experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory and legal issues encountered in the completion and closing of complex personal and commercial loans.
- Thorough knowledge of loan regulations such as RESPA, HMDA, etc.
- Ability to work independently to resolve problems and complete complex loan transactions.
- Ability to read, comprehend and evaluate detailed and complex loan documents. Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Thorough understanding and familiarity of the bank’s loan policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and internal and external customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office suite.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
