As we continue our rapid growth, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Global VP of Finance to help steer our financial strategy and ensure our long-term success.

Role Overview

The Global VP of Finance will be a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic financial guidance and operational excellence. This individual will play a crucial role in driving financial performance, ensuring the effective management of our resources, and leading our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of both the cybersecurity and education sectors, enabling them to craft strategies that fuel sustainable growth and position us as a leader in the market.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, aligning with overall business goals to drive growth and profitability.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and the executive team, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Lead the long-term financial planning process, including forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of key financial metrics to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for growth, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and new business initiatives

Financial Operations & Risk Management

  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, and compliance.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of robust financial controls, systems, and processes to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and balance sheet optimization to support the company's growth while maintaining financial health.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards

Stakeholder Management & Investor Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, lenders, and the board of directors, providing clear and concise financial updates.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, performance metrics, and strategic insights for board meetings, investor presentations, and executive discussions.
  • Support fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, by developing compelling financial models and engaging with potential investors.
  • Foster strong relationships with external auditors, banks, and other key financial partners

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear goals and performance metrics for the finance team, driving accountability and professional growth
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as sales, operations, and product to ensure alignment on financial goals and performance.
  • Promote a data-driven, analytical approach to decision-making throughout the organization

Qualifications

  • Location Requirements: Washington D.C. Metro / Maryland
  • 10+ years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, including CFO or VP of Finance, preferably within the education or EdTech sectors
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting, with a track record of driving profitability and growth
  • Experience with fundraising, investor relations, and managing relationships with private equity, venture capital, or strategic investors
  • Expertise in scaling high-growth companies and navigating the complexities of global operations, including experience with international accounting and tax regulations
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and influence with internal and external stakeholders
  • A strong understanding of the cybersecurity industry and the unique challenges of the EdTech space is highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA designation preferred
