Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database administration and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration:
    • Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
    • Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as backups, restores, and indexing.
    • Monitor database health and performance, and take corrective actions as needed.
    • Troubleshoot database issues and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Data Integrity and Security:
    • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate security measures and access controls.
    • Monitor database security logs and investigate any security incidents.
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Database Design and Development:
    • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions.
    • Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
    • Create and maintain database objects, such as tables, views, and indexes.
  • Backup and Recovery:
    • Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
    • Perform regular database backups and restore tests.
    • Execute disaster recovery procedures as needed.
  • ETL and Data Integration:
    • Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
    • Utilize tools like SSIS or PowerShell to automate data integration tasks.
  • Performance Tuning:
    • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
    • Optimize database queries and indexes to improve query performance.
    • Monitor database resource utilization and adjust configuration settings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in SQL Server administration
    • Hands-on experience with T-SQL, ETL, and PowerShell
    • Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and security best practices
    • Understanding of database performance tuning techniques
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
