Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Test Engineer Total Vehicle Evaluation for our Commercial Vehicle Development team in Southern California:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform subjective and objective vehicle evaluations, identify potential customer complaint issues, investigate problem root causes, and recommend potential countermeasures.
  • Plan and execute Test Drives of prototype and pilot commercial vehicles.
  • Organize and execute bench-marking activities on competitive vehicles.
  • Interface regularly with Hyundai affiliates in North America.
  • Summarize technical market trends and customer value of Hyundai vehicles.
  • Work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Create and present technical reports and presentations for management reviews.
  • Plan, monitor and manage department budget OR assist in planning and monitoring of department budget.

Required Skills

  • Valid light duty Driver's License. Commercial driver's license desired
  • Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; MS Internet Explorer; MS Project
  • Ability to travel domestically (15%) & internationally (5%)

Compensation

  • $70,000-$100,000


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics
  • 2 years of experience and General understanding of human factors and ergonomics concepts
  • Good understanding of vehicle dynamics, NVH, braking, and electrified powertrain systems (BET, FCET)
  • Experience in medium duty & heavy-duty truck programs development
  • Experience coordinating technical work between international organizations and working in culturally diverse team environment is a plus.
