Join our mission to transform pharmacy benefits as a Strategic Enterprise Engineer. Reporting directly into the VP Engineering, you will drive engineering and innovation for strategic enterprise product platforms, working closely with product, engineering, security & compliance teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify the balance between the immediate and long-term impact of technical direction and guide the organization to execution in this balance.

  • Identify or design, deploy, and support enterprise grade solutions that will support high availability and high scalability.

  • Play a lead engineer role to design and deliver secured and HIPAA compliant integration components to support integrated workflows and data exchanges with 3rd party organizations.

  • Identify, design and develop workflow automation components as platform capabilities.

  • Work with product managers and designers to refine requirements before implementation.

  • Represent software development team s products technically to stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility of enterprise readiness and strategic product evolution throughout their production lifecycles.

  • Identify and recommend process and quality improvements for scalability and efficiency.

  • Build backend applications in Python on AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SMS, ECS, etc.

  • Develop code in a stateful web application framework (React/TypeScript).

  • Collaborate with developers to establish consistent APIs across our services.

  • Employ best practices for API interactions with frontend web applications.

  • Implement backend code in a serverless, cloud application paradigm (Flask/AWS Lambda/ECS).

  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to continually deliver features to stakeholders and clients.

  • Be a technical, architectural, and career development mentor for other engineers.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of related job experience with a broad range of technical skills, with 3+ years working for a fast growth tech startup.

  • Creative thinker and problem solver, able to distill complex problems down to actionable items.

  • Desire to work in a health technology company.

  • Previous Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) experience preferred.

  • Git code management skills with experience working in a mono repository preferred.

  • Proficiency working in Linux using Bash, Zsh, Python, Node.js and similar tools.

  • Strong Python (Flask/SQLAlchemy) and TypeScript (React) experience.

  • Advanced PostgreSQL database knowledge, e.g. common table expressions, windowing functions, views, stored procedures, full-text or geospatial indexing techniques.

  • Proficiency targeting infrastructure as code with a security mindset (AWS, Terraform).

  • A history of delivering complex web applications to the cloud.

  • Some experience in developing and supporting analytical databases and applications preferably using RedShift or Snowflake.

  • Strong knowledge of unit testing across multiple paradigms.

  • Knowledge of integration testing using Playwright or a similar framework.

  • Experience working with microservices/an API-based application paradigm.

  • Good written communication skills that enable collaboration in a remote environment.

  • Ability to work autonomously driving proactive collaboration to deliver results.
