We are actively searching for a Quality Assurance - Color Design Engineer. The Quality Assurance and Color Design Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our ABS product through rigorous testing and validation processes while also contributing to the development and optimization of color design standards. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise in quality assurance and a keen eye for color accuracy and design. In addition, this position actively considers customer requirements to make color prescriptions. Also maintains and manages color prescriptions and colorants to create profitability. To do this, close communication with customers, sales, CS and headquarters is required. This position will be on-site at our Ravenna, OH location.

Essential Functions:

Quality Assurance Duties:

Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance plans, quality control systems, processes and procedures for product testing.

Design and execute test plans, test cases, and automated tests to identify non-conformities and resolve defects.

Perform root cause analysis for corrective actions and collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Analyze and interpret data from quality tests to ensure product performance meets industry standards and customer expectations.

Monitor and report on key quality metrics, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to improve product quality.

Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company QMS, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.

Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality procedures and best practices.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.

See assigned Non-Conforming Reports, Preventative Action Requests, and Corrective Action Requests through to completion & close out.

Manage (SOPs, Control Plans, Capability Studies, MSAs, Gage R&R) for assigned area(s).

Train others on test inspection and measurement methods. All other duties as assigned.

Color Design Duties:

Collaborate with design and development teams to define and implement color design specifications and standards.

Evaluate and select color palettes, materials, and finishes that align with brand aesthetics and product requirements.

Use color measurement tools and software to ensure color accuracy and consistency across various product lines.

Conduct color matching and visual assessments to ensure products meet design and quality expectations.

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in color technology to drive innovation in color design.

Perform tests related to colorant and its quality using equipment such as extruder, injection molding machine, spectrophotometer, etc.

Process data using measuring equipment and PC.

Derive solutions to color quality issues.

Support equipment operation and perform maintenance/management tasks for the equipment.

Ensure that products adhere to quality standards.

Read, understand, and maintain material safety data sheets.

Support HQ/Sales/CS/Production/QA department.

Work with relevant departments such as Production, QA, Maintenance, Research, HQ, Business service staff to resolve color related issues in plant. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or similar). Additional coursework or certification in color science or design is a plus.

2 to 3 years experience in a quality related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in quality assurance engineering, including hands-on experience with testing methodologies and tools.

Color perception ability.

Strong understanding of color theory, color measurement, and color matching techniques.

Proficiency with color measurement instruments and software, such as spectrophotometers and color management systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.

Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high standards of quality and design.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, NSF, UL

Experience with quality control tools and methodologies, such as SPC, and root cause analysis

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
