About this position:

We are looking for an Experienced Cloud Architect who will be responsible for standardizing our data ingestion pipelines and improving performance of data storage and retrieval. Our project is focused on transforming and modernizing the IT landscape of a DoD agency. We are designing, configuring, and developing cutting-edge software applications within the AWS GovCloud environment. Our initiative includes both the creation of new cloud-native applications and the migration (lift and shift) of existing Java and . Net-based applications into AWS GovCloud. All applications will need to meet stringent Government ATO (Authority to Operate) certification requirements. This is a high-impact role where you will have the opportunity to shape the technical architecture and ensure compliance with federal security standards.

Salary Range: 140k-170k - commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  1. Lead the technical design and architecture of cloud solutions within the AWS GovCloud environment.
  2. Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and migrate Java and .Net applications to the cloud.
  3. Guide the configuration and deployment of cloud-based applications, ensuring they meet the Government's ATO certification needs.
  4. Oversee the entire lifecycle of cloud solutions, from initial design to full-scale deployment and ongoing management.
  5. Work closely with security teams to ensure all cloud solutions adhere to federal security regulations and best practices.
  6. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and operations teams.
  7. Conduct regular assessments of existing cloud infrastructure and make recommendations for improvements.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the development and migration processes.

Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: Top-Secret security clearance, fully adjudicated.
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent major.
  • Certifications: Security+, AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) required.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on AWS GovCloud environments.
  • Experience implementing solutions in GovCloud for DOD Clients
  • Proven experience in leading the migration of Java and/or .Net based applications to the cloud.
  • In-depth understanding of the Government ATO certification process within GovCloud.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security practices and compliance standards.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, including networking, storage, and compute services.
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases, particularly in cloud environments.
  • Proven experience in migrating large volumes of data to the cloud, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Strong understanding of data security practices and regulatory compliance related to cloud environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Federal Personnel Security domain, specifically related to background investigations, adjudications, and continuous vetting.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
