To excel as an Automation Engineer, you must possess a strong technical background in software and hardware systems, particularly in automation within the manufacturing industry. A Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or Automation Engineering is required. Previous experience working with Siemens PLCs, HMI programming, and control systems for material handling devices is essential. You must have in-depth knowledge of variable frequency drives and demonstrate familiarity with NEC electrical code and OSHA safety requirements.
