AMERICAN SYSTEMS is a leading innovator in the Federal Information Systems Engineering, committed to developing cutting-edge solutions in IT and Cyber. We are looking for a motivated and passionate part-time Junior Engineer to join our team and contribute to exciting projects.

This position is part-time up to 20 hours per month with some opportunities for additional hours

As a Junior Engineer you will:

• Support customer engagement and business objectives for the Network Engineering Solutions group.
• Gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in a leading engineering environment.
• Research new technologies
• Cyber Security
• Assist with drafting positions papers related to Space systems for the team
• Other Duties as assigned.

A week in the life of a Junior Engineer:

• Assist Engineering Team: Work closely with senior engineers on various projects, providing support in research, design, and testing.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from experiments and simulations to improve project outcomes.
• Documentation: Help in preparing technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to project developments.
• Project Support: Contribute to the design and development of components and systems under the supervision of experienced engineers.
• Problem Solving: Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts to enhance project efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Education: High School graduate with some college working toward engineering degree. Prefer a currently enrolled sophomore in an accredited Aeronautical Engineering program.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of engineering principles, familiarity with CAD software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate data analysis.
