Job Description: Vice President Managing the Operations of an established Electrical Contractor with intentions of growth.

Opportunity: For a motivated person to lead an established 36 year-old Electrical Contractor into growth and participate in the rewards.

Primary Function: We are a Design / Build, Electrical Construction Firm, specializing in construction within Manufacturing and Industrial facilities. We also have a Water / Wastewater Utility Department, Service and Construction Department.

Reports to: Owner

Experience: Minimum of Fifteen (15) years’ experience in managing and bidding Design Build electrical projects, as well as staff.

Requirements: This position requires strong management skills, must be able to market and develop new customers-sales, compliance and knowledge of the NEC, Computer skills, AutoCAD (a plus), estimating, manpower scheduling skills, strong documentation skills, and good leadership skills. Must have the ability to successfully manage and lead a mid-size industrial electrical construction company

Ideally, this person will have:

  • Preferably a minimum of fifteen (15) years Light Industrial Design-Build estimating.
  • Ten (10) years of Turn-Key Design Build Industrial Electrical projects experience
  • Working knowledge in manufacturing facility design and construction site management.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful implementation of industrial projects ranging from 50k-10MM.
  • A thorough understanding of electrical codes and standards.
  • Motor control & PLC knowledge, transmitters, pressure, level, and other types of instrument use.
  • TDLR Master License
  • Manage a positive and productive team environment..
  • Detail oriented and possess the ability to multitask. This position demands a highly self-motivated, creative problem solver.
  • Electrical Design, Load Calculations, Service Design, Voltage Drop, Conduit and wire Calculations.
  • Sales experience and a knowledge of the Houston/Harris Co. market

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide initial client contact to assess client needs for their facility or project.
  • Prepare a complete estimate / budget number with a detailed review of client requirements.
  • Provide a full range of services, management duties such as project planning, execution, job cost tracking and job closure processes.
  • Schedule project material and labor resources in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with project budgets and schedules, quality controls, design intent, building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Oversee, assist, and motivate project managers.
  • Decision making concerning project cost, time, and performance.
  • Track manpower, including hiring and layoffs as backlog and workload dictates.
  • Marketing and developing new customers. Building a base of sustaining work.
  • Review monthly financials and make strategic adjustments as necessary
  • Manage document controls and create monthly status reports.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc.
  • Document all violations, notify project management, recommend / implement corrective actions as required.
  • Perform or delegate all annual performance reviews for the company.
  • Manage and ensure proper implementation and compliance with policies and procedures.

Salary: $110,000-$150,000/year
