As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. In this capacity, you'll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

- Minimum of 4-5 years' experience with Guidewire Claim Center 10.2.x (configuration and integration).
- Mastery of Java and microservices using Springboot.
- Proficiency in version control (Git).
- A solid understanding of web-based security (secure coding practices and coding standards).
- DevOps experience and DevOps tool is a plus (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Concourse, Docker registry/Harbor, Harness, Splunk or similar tools.
- Exceptional skills in log analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience in monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic, BigPanda.
- Familiarity with testing/GUnit/JUnit frameworks.
- Knowledge in API integrations using REST/SOAP, Apigee and event streaming using Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS and cloud-native platform with Kubernetes.
- An eager desire to learn and master new technologies and languages.
- A strong grasp of Agile methodologies.
