Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working in a similar 'external-client' facing role doing a mixture of Pre-Sales, Post-Sales and Field Engineering work.
  • Hands On Experience with or knowledge of Most of the following:
    • PLC Programming (ladder logic)
    • Network Connectivity to PLC based systems (profibus, modbus, EtherCAT/EtherNet FieldBus or similar
  • Experience with Field Service Engineering of PLC Based Systems: On-Site/External Client System Installation, Testing, Startup and Cutover; Troubleshooting PLC based system, External client user training, documentation and support
    • Experience working closely with/gathering information from various engineering teams (PLC, Motor Motion Control, Software Teams) before and after presentations and communication with external clients.
    • Engaging other key stakeholders (sales, marketing, engineering, management) for information, tools, knowledge, equipment, samples, and other items needed for successful presentations, POC creation, System Set-Up/CutOver and Installation for external clients.
    • Excellent Oral, Written and Video (zoom, teams, etc.) presentation skills; Must be highly Organized and Self Motivated.
    • A College Degree in Electrical Engineering is Preferred (a solid background in Electronics Fundamentals is Required)

    Pluses:

    • Motor-Motion-Control Drives (Servo Motors or similar)
    • HMI/DCS/SCADA type software or similar.
    • Experience with both Pre-Sales OR Post-Sales:
      • Pre-Sales: creating and presenting proof of concept demonstrations to new and existing clients; Answering Technical-Engineering Questions during external client meetings; Presenting and Explaining Technical-Engineering Products, Concepts, and relevance to client needs during external client presentations
      • Post-Sales: gathering technical specs/system requirements and translating/explaining those specs to the engineering build+design team before and during system builds;
